Material and Care
WHICH MATERIAL USES KLIMBIM FOR THEIR JEWELLERY?
At KLIMBIM, we carefully select high-quality materials to create long-lasting and beautiful pieces.
Our collection includes an increasing number of jewellery designs made from stainless steel, which is known for its durability and resistance to tarnish. Many of these pieces feature a PVD gold plating.
WHAT DOES PVD & GOLD PLATED MEAN?
PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is an advanced coating technique that bonds the gold layer to the metal in a vacuum environment. This process creates a highly durable, long-lasting finish that is more resistant to scratches, corrosion, and fading compared to traditional plating.
All our brass jewelry is gold plated with a thickness of 1 micron and a gold intensity of 24k.
Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto the surface of another metal, most often copper, brass or silver, by chemical or electrochemical plating.
HOW TO CARE MY KLIMBIM JEWELS?
These surface treatments will fade over time due to contact with water, clothes, hard surfaces, sweat, perfume, hairspray, air pollution, etc.
To keep your KLIMBIM jewelry looking beautiful for as long as possible, we recommend following a few simple care tips:
Avoid contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and other chemicals. Even though our stainless steel pieces with PVD coating are very durable and resistant to tarnishing, it’s still best to remove them before showering, swimming, or exercising.
Store your jewelry separately in a dry place, ideally in a jewelry box or pouch, to prevent scratches.
Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using cleaning products or polishing creams, as they can affect the protective coating.
For our brass pieces plated with 24K gold (1 micron) or 5-micron silver, the special protective lacquer helps them last longer, but they still appreciate gentle care and occasional cleaning with a soft cloth.
All KLIMBIM pieces are designed with love and attention to detail, and with a little care, they’ll stay radiant for years to come.
For optimal preservation avoid contact with cleaning supplies, beauty products, soaps and water. We suggest to remove your jewelry when wash your hands and shower.
If your jewelry should become dirty or dull, gently wipe it clean with a jewelry cloth.
WHERE ARE THE KLIMBIM JEWELS PRODUCED?
At KLIMBIM, we create our jewelry with a conscious and sustainable approach, taking care of every detail and every stage of the process.
Our brass pieces are produced locally, in collaboration with artisan workshops nearby that share our values of quality, ethics, and respect for both people and the environment.
On the other hand, our stainless steel jewelry, which requires specific technology, is produced outside of Spain. For this purpose, we work with a Spanish agent who maintains direct and ongoing contact with the partner factories, ensuring fair working conditions and environmentally responsible processes.
In this way, we combine local craftsmanship with ethical international production, creating long-lasting pieces that reflect our commitment to sustainability, transparency, and conscious beauty.
Every Klimbim piece is finished and reviewed in our studio in Barcelona.
